Sifu Alex will teach a one-hour participatory workshop on a principle (as compared to technique)-based approach to personal protection. The primary focus of the workshop will be a thorough insight into what works and what doesn;t work in self defense. However, in the process, he will take great care to outline the many ways in which Wing Tsun is a natural extension of Yoga practice. Some f the subjects covered, demonstrated, and taught will be:

  • Receiving, processing, and returning kinetic energy from common “thug”-style attacks;

  • How correct posture and joint-alignment can make up for deficiencies in physical stature, power, and speed;

  • How to deflect aggressive intimidation tactics.

  • How the learning phase of Wing Tsun can very much be seen as a form of “interactive Yoga”, if you will.
